My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can’t figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
· “We’re no longer a Christian nation”
· “America is arrogant” – (Your wife even announced to the world,”America is mean-spirited. ” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I’d say shame on the both of you but I don’t think you like America nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said,” America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.” Which ones did you mean?

1. Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British ?
2. Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War ?

1. I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers,husbands,and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII,because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around because we stand for freedom.

4. I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer,young man. Shape up and start acting like an American.If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue .You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts who was putting up a fight ? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are,terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now,son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That’s not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now. And I sure as hell don’t want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Obama Is Not Telling The Truth!!

I was starting to write a post on health care and came across numerous blogs and posts on the issue. The major misconception I held was that the health care industry was highly profitable given all the rhetoric, and that competition was a major factor!

The information shows first that the health care industry as a whole shows a very minimal profit margin, 3-7% pre-tax!!! So these companies that are being demonized by Obama as profit whores, clearly does not hold water when the numbers are reviewed.

Second, competition, this does seem to be an issue, without the ability to cross state lines to offer health insurance, this basically means you have 50 independent providers without competition, ultimately the end result of opening up the state lines would increase competition, but further erode the minimal profits these companies now hold, in effect making the game not worth playing!!

The ultimate issue with health care is cost of the provided services, (my bill for 23 hours in the hospital $12366), the general consensus and vague at best is liability!!! So although Tort Reform has been dismissed (due to the powerful trial lawyers lobby) this still appears the best resource to reduce costs. The administration and detractors of the general health care issue, is dealing with the scab and not the reason for the disease!! Otherwise why would a pill I generally pay $10.00 for 100, cost me $25.00 for one dose??

When a business has a tight margin for profit, they are required to generate income in other areas to offset expense, this is basic business. Due to the high cost of liability insurance and rampant law suits along with doctors providing defensive medicine due to the fear of making a mistake this cost has been padded into every nook and cranny of the process.

It would seem that a focus on reducing health care focused on the drivers of the out of control costs, (liability and malpractice insurance) would be a pragmatic point of consensus. The last thing we need is having the government enter into this fray, since it is abundantly obvious they are the last business to look to in producing a product at a profit!!!

Obama’s Solution, Charm Them?

Now that our government is back to work, an oxymoron of the highest platitude, our nation anxiously awaits direction on the health care debate. Over the last month the voice of the people was surely heard, daily townhall meetings clearly expressed the opinion that most of the nation is not interested in President Obama’s often edited proposed health care plan, and most divisive, the public option. Also clear is the fact that there is no health care plan just a series of thoughts not so succinctly put forth to test the boundaries of just how far the Obama team can extend its tentacles into the hearts, minds and purses of its constituency. Now that the mud slinging, threats, and adjective abuse has come to an impasse we now look to Obama for leadership, will we see the brilliant orator/actor that mesmerized the disenchanted, or the foreboding truth that Obama is nothing more than a hollow messenger of the liberal left?

Evidence of the latter is abundantly apparent, where in the past the presidents skill at delivering a rousing speech to rally a cause proved dramatically successful, his efforts are now worn thin. The charm offensive: “A publicity campaign, usually by politicians, that attempts to attract supporters by emphasizing their charisma or trustworthiness” is not sufficient enough to carry the platform, the people are demanding “facta non verba”, Mr. President, action not words.

The irony of truth is we as a nation do need health care reform, that is the binding thread we all can agree on, where this process has been derailed is the two divisive paths to that goal. Neither plan or I should say any plan issued to date has not addressed the one simple baseline need, what is best for the people! The current administration believes a public option, or in other words further intrusion of the government into the lives and pockets of the masses is the the only way to achieve a workable plan, where as the opposing dictum for all intent and purpose shields the large corporate health care providers and diminishes competition. So in retrospect, no substantive options have come to the table by either party.

Obama has lost the “crisis effect” and a great deal of political capital due to his handlers inability to send a clear message. The modus operandi of this administration that was so successful in passing the non stimulus stimulus was the call for urgency, we must do this now or else! That strategy is shallow in that the democratic health care plan was not to take effect until 2013? The first rhetorical question, “what is the rush”, second being, if this is so urgent why wait until after 2013 to deliver on the promise? It become apparent when you answer those two questions that what we are witnessing from the Obama administration is more focused on ideology and party survival than need.

Many promises were made by the Obama handlers, the first payback was the stimulus plan, of which by best estimates will not be fully funded until 2011, and has not made one iota of difference in our economic conundrum, the second plank of the Obama platform was to offer government run health care. The nation was drunk with change when the stimulus was rammed though both the house and senate in 48 hours out of perceived need, and a full blown cram down was attempted to pass health care prior to the government recess, thankfully enough resistance quelled that attempt.

So here we are, no further along, more confused, political pandering rampant, poll numbers tanking, accountability demanded, accusations abound, facts becoming clearer as to general direction, and the answer from the Obama administration, “let him charm them”. Tonight’s speech is being labeled as a last ditch attempt to salvage any creditability of our Presidents leadership qualities, gone is the blind acceptance of change for change’s sake. Time for the rubber to meet the road, a political reboot so to speak. I do hope the President does not continue to insult the intelligence of the American public with shallow promises, radical ideals so far left they are laughable, and begin to lead the nation to some modicum of truth that he does have the peoples interests at heart. So far all that has gone before appears to be payback Chicago style to those who helped him gain the office of President. We are waiting Mr. President, and not so patiently for you to show us all you are more than an empty suit enamored with your own image.

Obama’s Feet Of Clay

Feet of clay can be described as an unexpected flaw or vulnerable point in the character of a hero or any admired person. It has become apparent, that the words (rhetoric) and actions of our current president are not congruent. Obama campaigned as a liberal moderate, ready to heal the wounds of the past eight years of the Bush administration and offer all who bought into his message of change a “new beginning”. It is clear that Obama is a better campaigner than leader and implementer of policy. During the election process then candidate Obama made 516 promises on how he planned on changing the process of government. As of 8/31/09 here are the results; 37 promises kept, 11 compromised, 7 broken, 12 stalled, 83 in the works and lastly 366 no action. These are telling numbers, not so much for what has or has not been accomplished but the sheer number of promises made. If the administration were to hold true to the statements it would mean they would keep 129 promised changes per year or roughly 11 promises per month to meet this lofty goal.

What apparently slipped by the American public is that these changes were and are the largest effort to expand government since the inception of our country. The general public was so enamored with the glittery speeches, the powerful emotional music, the carefully crafted media onslaught, that a false sense of trust was developed where none was warranted. President Obama as it turns out is what most who did not vote for him already knew, a liberal of the far left. Why is this important, because those who do not share the ideology of the ultra liberal democrats the moderates and independents were swayed by his false misrepresentation of being a uniter and voted for his platform.

The conundrum the Obama administration faces is how do they paint the beyond liberal policies they are trying to implement as the same policies used to elect the platform and not come across as hypocrites? So far not too well, as George Will states, “In August our ubiquitous president became the nation’s elevator music, always out and about, heard but not really listened to, like audible wallpaper. And now, as Congress returns to resume wrestling with health care reform, we shall see if he continues his August project of proving that the idea of an Ivy League Huey Long is not oxymoronic.”

For those of you lost on the history of Huey Long, his “Share Our Wealth” program initiated in 1934 is eerily similar to Obamas real platform of today. Although some of what Long proposed did become reality in FDR’s New Deal, the country was in the depth of depression of untold magnitude. Due to Longs Share Our Wealth program the following programs were spawned, Social Security, Veterans Benefits, College Financial Aid, Works Progress Administration, the FDIC, Food Stamps, Housing Assistance and lastly Graduated Income Tax and inheritance tax. On the darker side of the program and an attack on the rich folk of the day, a cap on personal fortunes, limit annual incomes, guaranteed family income (by the government), a 30 hour work week, and a four week vacation for every worker!

What is clear is we now have increased government spending to the tune of 2.2 trillion dollars quadrupling the previous deficit, included a stimulus plan for 787 billion dollars which seems to be focused on developing speculative energy, semi nationalizing two car companies, trying to pass a cap in trade bill that is nothing more than a huge tax increase covered in green moss, and force implemented government controlled health care adding yet another several trillion to the deficit which at last blush is a proposed 9 trillion. Which by the way was missed by two trillion by the Obama economic advisers!!

The silver lining, an apathetic nation has been awakened, and they are grumpy. This awakening is not focused on either Democrats or Republicans, but a national process of accountability on all politicians in mass. Now that the general populace is faced with huge bills to pay, diminished value in both housing and retirement, intrusive government policies on privacy, and a health care program that only serves the masters and not the servants, change might well be in the wind, but it will be for the people and of the people. The wine and cheese social club of status and power is hopefully seeing its last days. The untouchable elitist that now rule out of personal gain, and the fomentation of power will be shown the door in 2010 and then again in 2012, for now the people have risen from the slumber of dispassion to one of wrath and distaste of the vague and empty promises of the elected class. We the people will exercise our collective will at the voting booths to correct such an injustice for the “Emperor has new clothes” and we were the ones who told them.

Obama and Panettas Political Diversion Scare Tactics

UPDATE: Rumor has it that Panetta was against the politicization of the CIA interrogations, in fact and inside source stated a shouting match at the White House between Panetta and Obama’s stable of attorneys was about his vehement disagreement with Holder performing this investigation. Mr. Panetta also is rumored to be strongly considering resigning his post over this flap. Until more facts are provided, all content about Panettas involvement listed below are redacted and Mr Panetta has obtained a get out of jail free card until further notice.

Now that the Obama administrations polls are in a free fall over his rampant spending and health care debacle, quick and decisive action was required to stop the rats from leaving the ship. How better to distract and divert the attention of the American people than to, you guessed it, ATTACK THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION! In a blatantly obvious political move Obama and his minion Leon Panetta have decided their ace in the hole is to regurgitate the perceived sins of George Bush. Or as the New York Post puts it, ” How best for President Obama to re claim a left-wing base grown restive over what it sees as administration backtracking on health-care reform? Simple: Declare war on the CIA”.

This administration appears to either forget or deny that we are a Nation at war, also lost is the fact that Nancy Pelosi and the intelligence committee were, have been and are aware of the situation they now want to politicize! Least we forget, Pelosi’s cover story on the issue, rather than step up and take the heat Pelosi chose to lie like a two year old with her hand in the cookie jar and state, “the CIA lied to me”!

All this political muckraking of an issue that was reviewed not once but on four different occasions as to it’s legality of which the findings were reviewed with the intelligence committee, the democratic party and the beyond left MoveOn organization want there pound of flesh from the Bush team, and most importantly Cheney. In pursuing this agenda, they are also looking to prosecute the individuals who were following the orders of there superiors. Now the Democrats and Eric Holder (Obamas neutered Pit Bull) have stated they will not prosecute the individuals at the field level, who believes them?

Obama and Rham the Bomb both said and I quote, “it’s time to look forward, Obama”, “it’s time for reflection not retribution, Obama”. and “the individuals involved will not be prosecuted, R. Emanuel”. Now that the Obama team has sufficiently distanced itself, late last week with Obamas team scrambling for a diversion the issue was once again floated but this time, the decision to take action was squarely put in the lap of Eric Holder. Unless you are totally blind to the facts this action can be seen as nothing more that a continuation of Chicago attack and divert politics, to save there political skins.

It is important to note the medias complicity in this propaganda, in the prevalent style of shock journalism, the headlines read, “CIA Interrogation tapes found” CBS, CIA used inhumane tactics, MSNBC”, and “Waterboarding Interrogations the CIA’s $1000 a day specialists”. You get the picture, but what is different this time is the overt assistance by the appointed CIA director Leon Panetta, who not only floated the KNOW balloon to the intelligence committee, but put in writing his excuse for doing so, http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/24/raw-data-panetta-letter-cia-staff-release-interrogation-report.

The byproduct of this emasculation of our front line efforts are clear, Americas war on terror must first pass the ACLU test, then the brain trust of Harvard attorneys of the Obama team. Furthermore Obama went to great lengths to create his own task force, the Interrogation and Transfer Policy Task Force, which created the unit responsible for future interrogations the High Value Interrogation Group. This new unit will “formally strip the C.I.A. of its primary role in questioning high-level detainees, but agency officials said they would continue to play a substantial role” states the New York times. This new unit stated “all interrogations would comply with guidelines contained in the Army Field Manual, which outlaws the use of physical force. The group will study interrogation methods, however, and may add additional noncoercive methods in the future”.

It is proven that the previous methods regardless of how they are judged worked, and the snippets of information about the methods used to gain this valuable information are debatable, but the result that we have not been attacked since 9/11 are clear, this fact cannot be twisted for political gain. We live in a brutal world, and at times the people of the United States hold a false sense of security as to our individual safety. The class or groups of individuals who wish us harm have no rules, they mean to do us harm in anyway possible, I for one do not want to go to a gun fight with a knife, but it appears this administration will go to any length to push there agenda even so far as risking the lives of it’s constituents!

I am not a Doctor I just play one online!!

With all the focus on health care I thought it was topical that I bring my extensive background in medicine to weigh in on the course of events. Seeing as how I have read about twenty seven and a half pages of the health care bill, and listened, evenhandedly I might add to the pundits on both the right and left, I feel confident in issuing my diagnosis.

Our country is being led to destruction by a group of raving NARCISSIST’S, and the fight is being led by the king of kings, the purveyor of pride, the nemesis of nouns, President Obama the Napoleon of our time! Take a look at some of the wisdom of the “little man” “A Constitution should be short and obscure”, “A man will fight harder for his interests than for his rights”, “Ability is nothing without opportunity”, and lastly, “Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress”. Do these Napoleon quotes sound familiar?

Why should this concern us, well just look at the Mayo Clinics definition and symptoms of the disease.

“When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may also seek out others you think have the same special talents, power and qualities — people you see as equals. You may insist on having “the best” of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance”.

HMMM, UTTTT OHHHH, boastful, yes, monopolize conversations, yes, look down on people, yes, sense of entitlement, hell yes, impatient or angry, “you betcha ya”, it all fits, and all these symptoms are here for us to witness on a daily basis, we have a mad man at the helm, and he has surrounded himself with people who “you think have the same special talents, power and qualities” AS YOU!

What does our president and his followers do when they don’t get there way, could it be???? “Underneath all this grandiosity often lies a very fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better”.

Rage and the fear of social injustice is driving the engine of the Obama machine, they attack on every front, from every direction, both covertly and overtly to get there way, when in this pathology they fail to see these actions as not healthy, it is second nature for the narcissist to think he/she is right and the rest of the world is just either not smart enough or misinformed. Look at the below symptoms and keep in the back of your mind Obama, and all politicians for that matter, but most of all think Chicago politics and see if you can match the dots.

* Believing that you’re better than others

* Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness

* Exaggerating your achievements or talents

* Expecting constant praise and admiration

* Believing that you’re special

* Failing to recognize other people’s emotions and feelings

* Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans

* Taking advantage of others

* Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior

* Being jealous of others

* Believing that others are jealous of you

* Trouble keeping healthy relationships

* Setting unrealistic goals

* Being easily hurt and rejected

* Having a fragile self-esteem

* Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional OMG!!!!!!

What did you get I have 15 out of 16, (gave him the benefit of the doubt on “being jealous of others”, I think he feels no jealousy he is the messiah!)

What to do, what to do? The last thing our nation can do is to bow to anyone who’s own self interests outweigh the best interests of the people. Stay vigilant, be vocal, my friends, we are living the biggest power grab in history, and as said by Lewis H. Lapham “As individuals and as a nation, we now suffer from social narcissism. The beloved Echo of our ancestors, the virgin America, has been abandoned. We have fallen in love with our own image, with images of our making, which turn out to be images of ourselves.”

Obama’s Political Dance Crew

Tighten your bustles, straighten your bow ties, the Obama dance crew is busy at work changing the program! The only consistency to be found in this group, is that the message is inconsistent. Oh Gibbs tries to save face, and cover the tracks of all the members, but one thing is apparent, video does not lie, and they are reaching the bottom of the balloon box.

While they send there political sheep to spread the word of the Messiah’s health care plan, they are returning to the heard sheered!! Arlen Specter the schizophrenic poster boy of politics failed at quieting the dissent at his first town hall meeting and was handily handed his lunch, not one to give up, and with an ego the size of his home state a different tact was implemented. Result? Numerous excellent video and sound bites to feast on.

The democratic leadership have called the town-hall protesters every name in the book, from AstroTurf movement and Nazis (Pelosi), to Harry Reid’s brilliance of stating the events are “staged” and “Phony” and the protesters are being coached by the republicans and are acting. “like babies for encouraging this type of behavior”.

Also telling, is that since recess started at the beginning of August, not ONE of the democratic party leaders has held a town hall meeting! In an act of sheer arrogance, Pelosi, Reid, Miller, Dodd, Waxman and the primary author of the bill Ed Markey have remained silent, choosing to ignore public debate and the voice of the people.

These elitist members of the ruling class party apparently do not care what their constituents have to say! These meetings have become so out of control, the democratic leadership choose to send in there most cogent voice, and junk yard Pit Pug

Who better than Barney Frank to spew rhetoric, attack logic with ridicule, and expand Americas vocabulary of adjectives than the democratic parties top smoke and mirrors candidate “The Barney”. In his normal tone, Frank was far from frank, calling people kitchen tables, aliens as in “what planet do you spend most of your time on” all the while dodging valid questions, speaking at people not to them, and generally portraying his “above it all holier than thou attitude. Good job Mr. Frank, you have further added to the clarity of the subject [sic].

Clearly the bloom is off the rose, the people are seeing through the rhetoric, no longer will they accept the preachings of Obama as truth, the inconsistency of the message is amplified each and every day, and most important, the previously quite masses who ignored the rampant political dogma of the past have awakened.

The Democrats and the Obama team can no longer assume mere words will carry the message, now they are being asked for details, and they clearly appear to be surprised by this action. Have a good vacation President Obama, when you come back maybe you will have some answers and some direction. We the people are waiting, and are on to your Chicago style promise and spend politics.

Obama’s New Left Movement Rooted In Old Left Maoism

One of the most shocking accusations of the Obama administrations has been the detractors labeling of his efforts as a move toward socialism, when is fact history shows Obama’s roots and early years are more closely tied to strict Maoist beliefs. Where socialism has its base beliefs in Egalitarianism (the removal of economic inequalities), Maoism is rooted in the revolutionary struggle of the people against the exploiting classes and there state structures, in short the Proletariat (a social class devoid of wealth) overthrows the bourgeoisie (middle or merchant class). Or in Obama’s own words “spreading the wealth” which was mistaken for socialism.

Maoism, first became apparent in the United States when the Black Panther Party (for self-defense) was originated by Huey P. Newton in the mid 60’s. The tenant or ten commandments of the organization called for, Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice and Peace in its “Ten Point Program” listed below.

The Ten Point Program was as follows:

1. We want power to determine the destiny of our black and oppressed communities’ education that teaches us our true history and our role in the present day society.
2. We want completely free health care for all black and oppressed people.
3. We want an immediate end to police brutality and murder of black people, other people of color, and all oppressed people inside the United States.
4. We want an immediate end to all wars of aggression.
5. We want full employment for our people.
6. We want an end to the robbery by the capitalists of our Black Community.
7. We want decent housing, fit for the shelter of human beings.
8. We want decent education for our people that exposes the true nature of this decadent American society.
9. We want freedom for all black and oppressed people now held in U. S. Federal, state, county, city and military prisons and jails. We want trials by a jury of peers for all persons charged with so-called crimes under the laws of this country.
10. We want land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice, peace and people’s community control of modern technology.

President Obamas previous background has been basically expunged, but if one looks at the past “documented” associations of our current president it will show a who’s who of “social activism”. As brought up in the campaign and at the top of the list, Bill Ayers, who’s antiwar movement in the 60’s is legendary primarily for it violent nature, but others also appear and in no particular order, Jeff Jones, Van Jones, Carl Davidson, Mike Klonsky, and lastly Betita Martinez. I find the comments from Dr. Marable the founder of the “New Party” of which President Obama joined in 1995 most telling.

“What makes Obama different is that he has also been a community organizer. He has read left literature, including my works, and he understands what socialism is. A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists. There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years”

“My argument is simple. The left must force him to carry out the agenda he promised, and that includes a national healthcare system…That is the number-three priority. The main priority is ending the war in Iraq. The second is the economic crisis. We need a robust Keynesian approach to employment and investment in infrastructure – a lot of the bridges built by the works projects administration of Franklin D Roosevelt 75 years ago need to be rebuilt and the roads are crumbling”.

Pretty clear in that the foundation for the current administration and its association with the primary social activists of the past is not the platform used to win the 2008 election. Pure Chicago politics utilizing grass roots social activism which has expanded exponentially and growing daily. With Obama as there leader, combined with the apparently endless supply of money from Soros and the assistance of the MDS, and newly ignited SDA, the message is being carefully crafted as not to alert the generally excitable public which is focused on the headlines the liberal media put’s in front of them daily as a distraction of the efforts of the “Obama Machine”

This machine, is expanding via the internet utilizing web pages such as Change.org, Whitehouse.gov, mybarackoboma.com where the basic premise is to expand the message for social activism, and change. The proposed change that has become apparent is not the change President Obama stumped for in the last election, this has become obvious by the appointments of the various Czars which will be covered in another post, this is clearly not change we can believe in!!!
